Our participation at the 7th African Leadership Forum

We are thrilled to bring you an exciting update from the just-ended 7th African Leaders Forum, which took place at the prestigious Kempinski Hotel in Ghana on the 25th and 26th of May 2023.

This prominent event brought together African Leaders, including former heads of state and government, experts, and professionals from various fields to discuss and address critical issues affecting intra-African Trade, specifically in agricultural potential in Africa.

The African Leaders Forum, organized annually by UONGOZI Institute and, has become a premier platform for leaders and professionals in diverse fields to engage in dialogue, share insights, and collaborate on key issues affecting the continent. This year’s theme, “Promoting, Intra-Africa Trade to Unlock Agricultural Potential in Africa” aimed to.

  • Highlights Africa’s agricultural potentials and opportunities emerging from climate change across the continent.
  • Share experiences and lessons on the obstacles in maximizing agricultural potential in Africa.
  • Discuss the potential and obstacles to, as well as practical and realistic requirements for implementing AfCFTA within Africa’s agriculture context.
  • Identify priorities and roadmap for implementation of the agricultural trade perspective under the AfCFTA in order to realize its transformative economic objective.

Guest speakers included H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Olusegun Obasanjo, Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, ALF Patron and Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Hailemariam Deselegn Boshe, Former Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, and H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General, AfCFTA Secretariat.
