GP was selected for a new GIZ assignment – Implementation of Capacity Building for Financial Service Providers on Disability Inclusion and Financial Literacy Programme for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)

GIZ is passionate about creating full, fair, and equitable access to financial services for persons with disability. Discrimination against persons with a disability not only violate their rights to employment and financial services but also affects the performance of the business and economic growth. GIZ seeks to enhance the capacity of Financial Service Providers (FSPs) to adequately provide services and products to persons with disability in a manner that is fair and inclusive. The project targets two sets of beneficiaries namely, PwDs (hearing impaired, visually impaired, and physically impaired persons respectively) and Financial Service Providers (Senior Management, Inclusion officers, and Frontline staff).

The key elements of the project:

  • review of project documentation
  • Stakeholder mapping and engagement
  • development of tools to assess the knowledge of PwDs and FSPs,
  • training needs assessment, (identification of new contents/ skill gaps)
  • development of accompanying PowerPoint presentations (with presentation notes included), corresponding templates
  • training delivery (PwDs and FSPs)
  • post-training evaluation
  • comparative best practice analysis of policies of financial institutions tailored towards disability inclusion in the financial sector
  • development of reports on our findings and recommendations

Status of Consultancy Assignment: On-going
