Korean MECEN IPC Co. on a Trade Mission to Ghana

CH Business Consulting Ghana hosted the Korean Company, MECEN IPC Co. Ltd represented by Mr Chul Park (Executive Director), in a Trade Mission to Ghana from the 2nd of February to the 6th of  February 2020.

Mecen IPC Co. Ltd is a manufacturer specializing in the processing and recycling of PET bottles. The purpose of their visit was to understand the PET market and to possibly set up a partnership with local PET recycling companies in Ghana.

CH Consulting Ghana introduced Mecen IPC Co. Ltd to Jospong Group, one of the leading recycling companies in Ghana, and discussed the possibility of a joint venture to convert PET waste materials into flakes, to produce polyester staple fibre and geotextile membrane from PET flakes.

A visit was made to the Jospong recycling facilities ACARP-Accra Compost & Recycling Plant (an integrated waste processing and recycling plant to receive, sort, process and recycle solid and liquid waste into organic compost) and to IRECOP-Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (that receives, sorts, processes and recycles Municipal solid waste into organic compost) as well as to other Jospong Group companies.
 
A meeting with the Korea Eximbank, represented by Mr Sang-Yun Lee (Chief of the Accra Representative Office) and Mr Kwadwo Awua-Peasah (ODA Specialist) was held to understand the funding support options that are available for the intended project.
 
On the 6th of February 2020, an MoU was signed between the CEO of Jospong Group of Companies, Mr. Joseph Siaw Agyapong and Mr. Park, Executive Director of Mecen IPC Co. Ltd, to frame the cooperation intentions.
