Presenting Donor Mapping Activities in the Energy Sector of Ghana

As consultants to the German Cooperation, GP Business Consulting prepared a mapping document detailing the activities of donor partners in Ghana’s energy sector. This document was to aid the German Cooperation, as co-chairs of the Energy Sector Donor Partner Working Group (ESDPWG), coordinate activities of respective stakeholders in the energy sector; regulate exchange of information both amongst the development partners (DPs) active in the sector as well between the DPs and the Ministry of Energy (MoEn), ensure alignment of activities with the Government’s priorities and enable the most efficient deployment of funds.

The presentation of Donor Mapping on the Activities of the Donor Partners in Ghana’s Energy Sector took place on the 21st of February at the German Cooperation House, Accra, and was made by Nicholas Frimpong-Manso, the Managing Partner of GP Business Consulting. The ESDPWG was formed by several countries and organizations to better coordinate their respective efforts in the energy sector with the Government of Ghana as well as among themselves.

The meeting brought together officials of Ghana’s  Ministry of Energy, and representatives of the donor partners in Ghana’s energy sector, which included DANIDA, AFD, KfW, GIZ, World Bank, MCC, USAID, SECO, AfDB, Korea EXIM, EU, IFC, UNDP, JICA, Norfund, DFID and Spain.
